| Professional Security Alarm System Monitoring |
|
Monitoring of Security Systems by an Accredited ULC Station Some systems utilize two of these technologies to achieve redundant reporting as recommended by the Underwriters’ Laboratories of Canada (ULC). The alarm is detected by an intrusion device such as a door sensor, motion detector or glass break detector, a personal safety device such as a smoke detector or wireless medical pendant, or a property safety device such as a water detector. The monitoring station dispatches the appropriate responders, or agency. All activity is recorded for later review. Currently only British Columbia, Quebec and Nova Scotia have regulated industries that require licensing by the government authority. Using a ULC monitoring station is important because the minimum standards set by Underwriters Laboratories of Canada are followed. The staff will be professionally trained and will have industry standard equipment. |
